Next Balavihar class: 9/23/202
We started with a round of introduction and got to know what their favorite sport and interests are. It was interesting to see wide variety of sport fans in the class. As an icebreaker and warm up activity , we had kids do a crossword puzzle on Ramayana. This quickly brough them together in groups and they all worked together on the puzzle building relationships. It was refreshing to see the kids interacting with each other to drive the answers. We hope it was fun activity for the kids.
We then spent few minutes explaining the curriculum to the kids. Our Curriculum is "Raja Gopalahari's Ramayana and "keys to Success" based on Vibheeshana Geetha". The goal of this is to teach the concepts of Dharma through Ramayana. Through discussions, we will analyze key characters from the Ramayana story.
Through all the above, we explain to the children the roadmap to a life of success. Beginning next class, we will also start teaching the Sri Rama Bhajan and Nama Ramayanam verses.
We also explained the format of the class, usual agenda and expectations. We will be flexible with the agenda but try to follow a pre-set plan.
We will focus on learning the 3rd chapter of Bhagavadgita 'Karmaa Yoga' this year. We will start with short Sanskrit pronunciation video next week as a primer to the Gita Shlokas. We then closed the class with everyone joining the main Aarthi in the temple hall.
We look forward to seeing the kids again next week with interesting topics.
