Hari Om Parents Today was the second class of Balavihar!! Here is the summary of what we covered in the class today: Opening Prayers: All of us assembled in our classroom 'Giridhari', we all sat in a circle crisscrossing our legs, hands together in Namaskar pose, kept our eyes closed, and then we all chanted three OMs and then chanted the Opening Prayers - Sahana Vavatu. Activity: Name Tags- Kids were given small name tags to write their names on and color the animals on it at home. And we asked each kid to say their name and where they stay, to help all of us get familiar with each other. Attendance: Attendance was taken and each kid responded by saying 'Hari Om'. After this, we started with the first Lesson which starts with a story. Story Time: Three Questions: Through this story, we learned the answers to the 3 questions : Who is God ? - God is He, who can do what no one else can do. Where is God ? - God is everywhere What does God do? - God can do anything and everything. And then we discussed that the whole world runs by his Supreme Power and everything runs in a systematic manner(Day/Night, Seasons, Life, Oceans, Seas, etc). Yoga: Stretching exercise, Tree pose, Lion pose. Kids participated happily. And then we moved on to the second lesson. Exploration time: Hide under the Sky: We had some discussion on whether we can hide from the Sky, and try not to be under it. And then we learned that Sky is everywhere, similarly, God is everywhere. Story Time: Through the story of Who is Watching? - We learned that God is watching us at all times, even though we may be alone. No one can hide from him. God is watching us, protecting us, and taking care of us at all times. He sees everything, hears everything, and knows everything. Brainstorming: Through small examples, we discussed who is a Special Person. What a Sweet Mind is? And who a Sweet person is. And we can become Sweet people when we develop a Sweet mind and we develop Sweet Mind when we attain special qualities which we can learn by learning the Vedanta alphabet and start applying it in our life. Geeta chanting: We will be learning the Bhagavad Geeta Ch 3, so we together practiced the pronunciation of Sanskrit letters and words from Ch 3 with the help of the primer video which was played on the TV by the Geeta chanting team. Exit Ticket: Kids were provided 2 sheets: 1. Alphabet Safari coloring and 2. Find the Ladybug Activity and coloring. And were asked to finish it at home and bring it to the next class. to the next class. Kids were asked to think about what could Letter 'A" stand for in the Vedanta alphabet. And then we said our Closing Prayers and we all went to the Main hall for Aarthi and Pledge. It was another very interactive class with kids, all of the kids participated very well and shared with us their thoughts and Ideas. And they enjoy Storytime, in which they listen with attention and answer questions after. Note: Next class is on Oct 9th, 2022, you can bring kids directly to room Giridhari(near the water fountain) by 9:15 a.m. and then pick them up from the Prayer Hall after Aarti & Pledge.
