Hari Om Parents,
It was amazing to see children in person. They were ready to learn and eagerly waiting to learn new lessons about Bhagavatam. We had a wonderful class of BalaVihar.
What we covered in the class today:
We started our class with chanting OM 3 times
· Children practiced Ganesha Sharanam Bhajan
· We chanted beginning prayers for goddesses Saraswati (Saraswati namastubhyam), Lakshmi (Karage vasate) and Durga (sarva mangala mangale).
· We learned Guru stotram "Akhandala mandalaakaram", all children participated in learning seven verses of Guru stotram from pg. 61 of My Prayers book
· Then we reviewed what we learned in last class about Narada ji and Vysasa ji
- We discussed Bhagavatam is about glories of Lord Vishnu
- Children watched short video on Narad ji explaining Vysasa ji to write Bhagavatam
- Children listened to stories about Pariksit and Kali
- Children listened to story about bull and cow (how Parisit talks to Kali)
- Children learned characteristics of Kali in Kaliyuga
- We learned that Kali resides in places where there is gambling, drinking, lust, and cruelty
· We discussed in Kaliyuga, places where god's name and satsung happens, Dharma resides
· Children learned the four legs of Dharma are Austerity, Purity, kindness and Truthfullness
· Children participated in Arti and Pledge in Assembly Hall
We look forward to seeing children next week.
