Hari Om Everyone,
We started our session with chanting OM 3 times and reciting opening prayers
- Sahana Vavatu
- Vakratunda MahAkAya
- Saraswati Namastubhyam
- Guru Brahma
- SukLAmbharadam
- KarAgre Vasate Lakshmi
Next, we continued with the 3rd chapter of Krishna, Krishna everywhere book narrating the stories of Lord Sri Krsna. Lord Narayana promised Mother Earth that he would be born as Vasudeva and Devaki's son to cleanse the earth of sins and the sinners. We then proceeded with the story of Lord Krishna's birth. While narrating the story, the kids were very happy and attentive.
For a few minutes we had the students do Japa of SRI KRISHNA with the japamala they made in the first class.
We had an interactive activity with the kids based on 24 teachers about one of the most important elements which is AIR. Air is unattached and the air within us teaches us to take only what is necessary. It is freely moving everywhere and teaches us to stay pure, uncontaminated by surroundings and situations.
Activity: Am I Attached.
We asked kids to stand up and imagine tying things they like the most to their hands and legs and walk around. It feels cumbersome and tiring to do that. This is to tell them how we are all attached to things through invisible strings. We are not attached physically but mentally. When we are attached,we cannot function easily.
We recited verses 1 and 2 from Chapter 3 of Bhagavad Gita, guided by Swami Shantananadaji.
