· After taking the correct seating posture, we chanted OM 3 times
· Opening Prayer ( Om Sahanavavatu) We said the meaning of the prayer after chanting: May God Protect us , May He nourish us. May we energetically work together. May our studies be brilliant. May we never have hatred for each other. Om May there be peace.
Students practiced remembering the first line.
· Prayer of Bhagvan Ganesha : Vakratunda Mahakaya
· Attendance: Students caught a squishy ,smiley ball thrown to them, stood up at their turn, said their name and greeted Hari Om
· Daily Prayer ( karagre Vasate): (Pg 14 My prayer blue book). We learned how to look at the palm in the morning after getting up from bed, Laxmiji at the tip, at the base Saraswati Goddess and in the middle of the palm Govinda.
Student did worksheet of identifying names of Goddesses ( Laxmiji,Saraswati ma and Durgama) and their consorts( Vishnu Bhagavan, Bramhaji and Lord Shiva)
· Review of past lesson : Students reviewed A is for Aspiration . Aspiration is having a goal for life ( What they want to be when they grow up). Goal has to be little challenging. One also needs single pointed attention and practicing hard work to attain the goal. Students recapitulated the story of Dronacharya.
Students completed a maze of Sundar Kanda. Hanumanji had single pointed attention, he did not get distracted when he was trying to meet his goal of finding Sitadevi.
· Topic for the day: B for brotherhood:
· Students learned What is brotherhood. Belongingness, togetherness. We are part of one family. In the family we love each other, share things, care for each other. Students talked about members of family and what they do for each other. Grandparents , uncle, and aunts are also part of our family because we care for each other. Same way neighbors are part of family. Many neighborhoods make a city . In the city there are community workers ( doctors, nurses, Postmen etc.) .We help each other so we are one family living in a city. Many cities help each other in difficult time. Many cities make a nation, and many nations make continents( Asia, Africa, north and south America and Europe) . All nations help each other during crisis. So, we are one family. All continents are on earth , so earth is one family (vasudhaiva Kutumbakam). Sharing ,caring makes feeling of belongingness. We belong to one family.
· Story : Title : The complete picture. Crayons in crayon box fighting with each other, not liking each other. Each color is unique and important. When each color is used for coloring , picture is complete . Each of us is unique; living in brotherhood spirit ,picture of life is completed. Each of important make world interesting and special just like each crayon in the box.
· Word Home: Has Om in it. H is for happiness and E is for Ever. Family that chants Om and prays together, stays happy forever.
· Activity : Making Lantern for Diwali. Students enjoyed it.
