Hari Om Parents,
It was amazing to see children arriving to class on time. They were great to learn new lessons about Bhagavatam. We had an interactive class of BalaVihar.
What we covered in the class today:
We started our class with chanting OM 3 times
· We practiced Ganesha Sharanam Bhajan
· Chanted beginning prayers for goddesses Saraswati (Saraswati namastubhyam), Lakshmi (Karage vasate) and Durga (sarva mangala mangale).
· We learned Guru stotram "Akhandala mandalaakaram", all children participated in learning seven verses of Guru stotram from pg. 61 of My Prayers book
· Then we reviewed what we learned in last class about Pariksit's curse from rsi's son.
- We discussed Pariksit meets Sukedeva story. The story is about how Pariksit worried about his own death, and how Sukadeva advises him to meditate.
- Children learned Sukhadeva narrated the story of Lord's divine play called Bahagavatham.
- Listened to story about Varaha Avataram where Lord Vishnu saves earth from deep ocean of Pralaya.
· Children listened stories about Hiranyaksa, Jaya and Vijaya.
· Jaya and Vijaya are attendants of Lord Visnu. They stop Sanatkumaras from visiting Lord Vishnu. They were cursed by Sanatkumaras to be born as demons on earth. The two demons are Hiranyaksa and Hiranyakasipu. After hearing this, Lord Vishnu tells Jaya and Vijaya not to worry because he himself will come to redeem them and bring them back to vaikuntham.
· They practiced Bhagawath geeta chapter 3 verses 3 and 4 with the help of Swamiji's video.
We look forward to seeing children next week.
