Warm greetings of the holiday season to all! Here is the class update from the last session.
Stotram: We all chanted the devi dhyana shloka and Mahalakshmi Ashtakam. Please encourage the children to keep practising these shlokas at home.
India, the Sacred Land: Since the children have chosen to present from this topic for their stage performance, we spent a good amount of time talking about the background of the freedom struggle, the dedicated people from different strata who were willing to sacrifice their lives for the sake of the country and the different approaches the freedom fighters took to achieve this goal. Please check the class WhatsApp group for further updates.
Bhagavad Geeta: We chanted from the beginning of Chapter 3 and learnt verses 13 and 14 in class today.
Our "Team" building exercise: With FIFA finals coinciding with class time, it was inevitable that it was the major topic of discussion for the day. The classroom was split into the Argentina corner and the France corner and the children had to find a spot to sit based on their favorite team. We had a couple of neutrals, but the split was pretty even. Our children were well-acquainted with the schedules and ways to watch at least some of the game for free, so we ended up with a politely raucous watch party! It was a fun day, with an opportunity to make new friends based on team loyalties and hear from some otherwise "quiet" kids who were quite vocal in their support of their team!
