Krishna Krishna Everywhere
- This week's Krishna's story is about Dhenukasura Vadha. Dhenuka was a donkey in the nearby Palmyra garden of Vrindavana who terrified everyone wishing to get a bite of the juicy fruit from the garden. Both Balarama and Krishna kill the herd of Donkeys and free the village from their wrath.
- We talked about how Lord Krishna was the darling of all, elders, friends, parents and rishis because of his obedient, friendly and protective nature.
- We discussed what qualities we all should possess in order to be loved by all.
My 24 teachers
This week's teacher was a Python.
- Like the Python, one should eat any food that comes your way without much struggle, be it more or less, sweet or bitter.
- The moral that the Python teaches is to be content with whatever comes your way, never be greedy and wait patiently.
Kids are noting down their work about the teachers and the morals they spread.
Activity
As part of the activity, we played the age old snakes and ladders game with a twist. Every snake bite brings you down, away from the winning spot as it is accompanied by bad deeds which one should never commit and every ladder takes you up close to winning as all good deeds will take you closer to your goal. Another moral the game teaches is to never give up even if you fall and keep trying.
Bhagavad Gita
We chanted the 13th and 14th verses of Chapter 3 with Swamiji's guidance video.
Please have the kids practice them at home as we will be recording verses 6-12.
