Today was the twelfth class of Balavihar!! Here is the summary of what we covered in the class today:
Opening Prayers: We together chanted three OMs and then chanted the Opening Prayers - Sahana Vavatu.
Today was the twelfth class of Balavihar!! Here is the summary of what we covered in the class today:
Opening Prayers: We together chanted three OMs and then chanted the Opening Prayers - Sahana Vavatu.
After this, we discussed who all participated in the Story Telling Competition, Four kids from our class participated, and then each kid stood up and narrated their story in front of the whole class. It was wonderful to see them narrate their story with actions and elaborate specific details in the stories.All four kids narrated very well. Kudos to kids for their awesome performance!!
Sloka time: We chanted Ganesh Sloka-Ekadantam Mahakayam and Krishna Sloka - Mukam Karoti Vachalam together
And then we repeated Rama slokas : Apadamapa hataram and Ramaya Ramachandraya a couple of times.
Recap: We recited the Alphabet chant until Letter K. Kids are now able to relate each letter to what we learnt in the Alphabet Safari for it.
Introduction of the Next Letter: We introduced the next letter "L'' - stands for 'Love which means being affectionate. And we express our Love through good behavior and serving others.
Brainstorming: We discussed various ways we can express our Love for others. And that Love is a special feeling you have when you are around anyone who you like,have affection for and you are ready to do everything for them. And we all cannot live without love, and God loves us all the most.
Yoga time: We did Brain Yoga,Jumping Jacks, Lion pose, butterfly pose.
Activity 1: Puzzle - Make a Word- Kids were asked to complete the word puzzle which spells out LOVE.
Activity 2: The House I Built - Kids were asked to complete their house(sheet provided) - color and paste either popsicle stick or cardboard and make a house by gluing it together, which shows them the importance of Love. And learn that Love binds all the members of the family and keeps them together.
Story Time 1: Gandhiji's Love - we learnt that Love could change a person to become good and we all need to have love for each other.
Story Time 2: The Best Gift - one can show Love by doing good things and behaving well with others and we can show our love through simple deeds every day.
Exploration: Who Loves Us The Most? We discussed all the gifts we have, and what is the best gift we have? Kids responded that their parents are the best gift that God gave to them and that God gave a lot of wonderful gifts in this whole universe and God loves us the most.
Geeta chanting: Some of the kids recited BG verses 1 to 4 individually. Please record kids chanting BG verses and send the recording to Geeta@chinmayavridavan@org to help get House points.
Bhajan: Kathe bhi Ram Kaho bhajan together -Kids were chanting along.
Closing Prayers: We repeated Closing Prayers -Om Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah - a couple of times together and practiced it.
Exit Ticket : Next class we plan to record In Class Kids chanting BG verses 1 to 5. Please make kids complete the coloring sheets provided and also complete Activity 2 detailed above.
It was another very interactive and lively session with kids. Kids shared their views and participated happily in the class.
Very proud of the kids who participated in the Story telling competition. Awesome performance! by all !! Thank you parents for helping the kids prepare well.
