Here is the update of our Jan 6th balavihar session.

We Started the class by greeting the students followed by Likhita Japa , Opening Prayers and Geeta Dhyanam chanting / practicing and attendance
We did a bit of a refresher on what has been done this far on our main curriculum – Yato Dharma Tato Jayah - and then jumped into a game where each youth had to evaluate the selected 5 Mahabratha characters on a scale of 1 – 5 as adharmic to Dharmic based on their understanding. Then we looked at the total results and had a discussion on why they thought Yudhistra was Dharmic and Duryodhan as Adharmic etc.
After this discussion we narrated the story of how Pandavas made Pariksith the king and began their grand ascent towards the peaks of the Himalayas . We concluded the story with how Yudhistra stood steadfast to not go to heaven on the heavenly chariot unless the Dog was offered a seat as well. Even at that moment he was following Dharma. Finally the dog revealed its true form of Dharmaraja (The god to Dhrmaraja) and welcomed Yudhisthira to Heaven. We discussed the learnings from this story .
We then briefly discussed the plans for our Monthly Program - the Play – 'Chota Bheem Meets Balavihar' that is planned for a stage performance on Jan 20th.
We followed Swamiji on Tv and chanted Geeta chanting verses 13 and 14. We concluded the class with Closing prayers, followed by Aarti and Pledge in the assembly hall.
