Hari Om Parents
We started our class with Likhitha Jaapa, followed by our daily prayers and Ganesh Pancharatnam. We started to learn Nirvana Shatakam by Aadi sankaracharya, we have distributed to all the kids print outs of the same. We learnt 4 stanzas out of the 6, kindly request all parents to help children in learning and also please make them practice at home.
Please note we have a Shlokathon,Bhajanotsavam competitions and chinmaya kaalarangam, we would encourage parents to register children for the same. The competitions help the kids to earn points for themselves and their houses as well.
Friday 24th 2023 is House spirit day please ask kids to wear their house colours to earn points.

We continued to review from last class what we learnt from India, the sacred land.
We discussed Ganges or River Ganga and a few other rivers which flow in India. We also discussed the mountain ranges (Himalayas, Vindhya ranges).
How many states are there in India and what different languages are spoken in each region, like Tamil, telugu, kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi, Guajarati to name a few we went over.
We concluded with our Gita chanting, we learnt new verses 17-18. It was about time to leave for the monthly presentation by grade 6 followed by a Pledge in the prayer hall.
Please make sure kids prepare regarding the Vedas, things of national importance in India like flag, emblem, national and we want to have a small session of game to kids and give each of them a topic randomly and they need to talk for a few mins about the same. Kids are aware of this assignment.
