Today was the thirteenth class of Balavihar!! Here is the summary of what we covered in the class today:
Opening Prayers: We together chanted three OMs and then chanted the Opening Prayers - Sahana Vavatu.
Today was the thirteenth class of Balavihar!! Here is the summary of what we covered in the class today:
Opening Prayers: We together chanted three OMs and then chanted the Opening Prayers - Sahana Vavatu.
Sloka time: We chanted Ganesh Sloka-Ekadantam Mahakayam and Krishna Sloka - Mukam Karoti Vachalam,Rama sloka : Apadamapa hataram together
And then we repeated Rama sloka: Ramaya Ramachandraya a couple of times.
Recap: We recited the Alphabet chant until Letter L.
Introduction of the Next Letter: We introduced the next letter "M'' - is for Mother. Mother cares, nurtures, and protects us and Alphabet chant for letter M is - 'Mathru devo bhava'.
Brainstorming: We discussed the various ways we can express love to our Mother by helping her, respecting her, listening to her and respecting her.
Yoga time: We did Tree pose,Stretching pose,squats ,Jumping Jacks, couple of Karate moves
Story Time 1: Mommy's Love - we learnt that Mom's Love is with us always and is very powerful.
Story Time 2: P.S. I love you Mom - is very powerful and when you love someone, you don't demand anything in return.
Exploration: We learnt that 'Mother Nature', 'Mother India, Mother USA', 'Mother Sruti', 'Mother Earth' and 'Mother Cow' are all symbols of Mother who we worship. They care for us, nourish us and sustain us.
Geeta chanting: Some of the kids recited BG verses 1 to 4 individually. Please record kids chanting BG verses and send the recording to Geeta@chinmayavridavan@org to help get House points.
Bhajan: We sang Kathe bhi Ram Kaho bhajan, Hey Murali Madhavam together -Kids were chanting along.
Game: We played the Sleeping Lions and Hunter game. Kids had fun. Attendance was taken before the game.
Closing Prayers: We chanted Closing Prayers -Om Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah.
Exit Ticket : Next class we plan to record In Class Kids chanting BG verses 1 to 5. Please make kids complete the coloring sheets provided and also complete Activity 2 detailed above.
It was another lively session with kids. Kids shared their views and participated happily in the class.
