  • On arrival while waiting for other students to join, students present in the classroom wrote

  in the Likhita Japa book.

  • After taking the correct seating posture, we chanted OM 3 times.

  • Opening Prayer ( Om Sahanavavatu pg. 8 My prayers green book). 

  • Prayer of Bhagvan Ganesh : Vakratunda Mahakaya ( Pg 27 My Prayers Green book)

  • Attendance: Students stood up when the first letters of their names were called and greeted Hari Om.

  • Daily Prayers : We chanted Karagre Vasate Laxmi ( Prayer after getting up in the morning), Saraswati Namastubhyam( Prayer before study),and Gange cha Yaamune chaiva (Prayer before Bath)  (My Prayers Green book pg. 11) Most of the students did well on recalling Prayer of Saraswati devi.

  • Activity #1: Krishna says (like Simon says) 

  • Review of previous lesson: J for japa

  • Topic of the day : K for Kindness

  • Activity #2  Brain storming: Students were presented 2 scenarios to understand what kindness is. We discussed what is Kindness, how we show kindness and why we should be kind.

 Kindness is being generous, gentle, good natured, helping all the time, sharing. We show kindness using speech and actions with our hands and feet. When we are kind, we feel good inside in us and others feel good too! God rewards for being kind.

  • Activity #3 Student drew happy and sad face on the index card and glued popsicle sticks on it. One of our students read the scenarios displayed , all students showed happy face to act of kindness in the scenario and sad face to the unkind scenario to show their understanding regarding kind actions. 

  • Story #1 : Kindness of Siddharth( Gautam Buddha) Siddhartha saves a swan that was shot with arrow by his cousin Devadatta. Hence, he gets to keep it as life belongs to those who save it.

  • Coloring Page K for kindness

  • Please note students can write any Japa ( Ram, ॐ). in the Likhita Japa book outside the classroom

  • All students are given a piece of red construction paper which is a part of large heart puzzle that our class is planning to assemble. On the piece students will write one act of kindness that they did during this week with the help of parents. We will wait for assembling the puzzle until all students get the pieces.
