Recap: We did the Alphabet chant together until the Letter 'T'.
Introduction of the Next Letter: For today's class and next week's class, we plan to cover 3 letters : U , V and W as conceptually they co-relate to each other.
Introduced the next letter 'U' is for Unity is to join hands and work together to help each other. And 'W' is for Work and we need to work together to achieve bigger things.
Brainstorming: We discussed what Unity means and discussed in detail Unity is Strength.
Exploration: We discussed Unity in Body, All body parts are different. They look different, they function differently. Yet, they all work together. This is called Unity in Diversity
Activity 1: Tug of War : To Illustrate Unity is Strength, what teamwork is and need to work together - we played the Tug of War game. Each kid took turns in being the lead on either side of the rope. And they enjoyed pulling their friends onto the other side.
Quiet time: Then we sat quietly closing our eyes and remembered our favourite God for a few minutes to calm down after activity time.Kids shared which God they remembered.
Storytime: Through the story of the Four Cows, we learnt that 'We have a far better chance of protecting ourselves from an enemy if we stand together'. United we stand, Divided we fall.
Activity 2: Lion in center of Human Knot game: In this game, kids held each other's hands and stood in a circle, and one kid was the Lion in the center trying to escape the Human Knot.
Kids who participated as Lions learnt quick tricks to escape from the knot, and all kids had fun trying to stay strong and also trying to escape from the knot.
Bhajan practice: Our Bhajan Coordinator joined the class at 10:20am and kids participating in the Bhajanotsav practiced singing the bhajans - Ganapathi bhajan and Krishna bhajan.Kids were singing together well and we had a good practice session.Missed some kids who could not come to class today.
Coloring time: Kids were provided Coloring Sheets for Letters U and V and were asked to complete their coloring during the Bhajan practice.
Attendance: was taken by each kid saying 'Hari Om' when their name was called out.
And then we went to the Prayer Hall for the Closing Prayers, Aarthi and Pledge.
It was another very collaborative and fun session with kids. We will be sharing the videos taken during the Activity time.
Thank you parents for making kids participate in Shlokathon, they were happily sharing their experience and points won.
