Topic of the day : U for Unity

Brainstorming:

Activity #1 Student folded a paper like a paper fan.Teachers helped them by cutting a human figure on the paper fan. It made a human chain ( 5 human beings holding each other's hands.) Students wrote the letters UNITY on the chain.

We learned Unity is working together, holding hands with each other and helping each other. Unity helps us to be successful as a team and also protects the team. Unity is strength.

Exploration: All body parts work in unity . Hands help to bring food to mouth. Mouth transfers food to the stomach . Stomach digests food and sends nutrients to blood . So we become healthy and strong.

Activity #2 Big Fish and small fish   Each student got a small fish.  They colored fishes with different colors. They pretended to swim in the water holding the fish in the hand. A mean black fish ( teacher holding the mean fish)  followed them and all students ( small fish started running here and there). Soon they realized that if they unite  and make a giant fish they would be able to scare away the mean fish. Students glued their  small fishes and made a giant fish. They chased the mean fish. The mean fish got scared and ran away. All small fish were safe.

Inference : Through unity we can overcome the greatest challenge.

Story #1 : Students heard a story of 4 cows and a lion. When Lion came to attack cows that were grazing grass. They held each other and pointed their horns to the mighty lion and scared him away. One day cows had a fight and stopped talking to each other. They started grazing away from each other. When the lion came, they were not united. So, the lion attacked and hurted one of them. Soon cows learned the lesson and united again.

Moral: We have better chance of protecting ourselves from an enemy when we are united
