April 16, 2023 -  Class Updates
  1. Kids wrote Likhita japa for the first five minutes.
  2. We started off the class with the opening prayer (Dhyana shloka - Om Saha Navavatu)
  3. Mahabharata
    1. Virata Parva continues
      1. As it was nearing the end of the year of incognito for Pandavas, Duryodhana was desperate in exposing them so that the Pandavas would need to enter into exile for another 12 years.
      2. Duryodhana sent soldiers all over the neighbouring kingdoms but none of them could find the Pandavas
      3. Duryodhana heard about the death of Keechaka and was intrigued as to who would have killed him
      4. Duryodhana and Shakuni decided that only Bhima would have killed Keechaka. They decided to attack the Matsya kingdom.
      5. Duryodhana requested Susharma to steal the cows and attack the Matsya kingdom from the south
      6. The Kaurava army decided to attack the Matsya kingdom from the north.
      7. Having heard about the act of Susharma, King Virata, Kanka, Ballabha, Damagranthi and Tantripala fought with the Susharma army and defeated it.
      8. Parallely, as the Kaurava army was preparing to attack the Matsya kingdom, there was no one other than the prince Uttara Kumara in the palace.
      9. Uttara Kumara bragged about himself that he would defeat the Kaurava army in no time, but that he had no charioteer.
      10. Sairandhri told Uttara Kumara to take Brhannala as the charioteer.
      11. As Uttara Kumara saw the Kaurava army, he got scared and jumped out of the chariot and started running away.
      12. Brhannala persuaded him to fight, but with no vain. Brhannala revealed herself to be Arjuna.
      13. Arjuna and Uttara Kumara went to the Sami tree to get the weapons.
      14. Uttara Kumara, now convinced, became the charioteer of Brhannala (Arjuna)
      15. Arjuna stuck the string of his gandiva. Hearing the sound, Bheesma and Drona got convinced that it must be Arjuna
      16. Bheesma told Duryodhana and others that the year of incognito already got completed and that Pandavas need not be disguised any longer.
      17. Duryodana was furious. Arjuna defeated the Kaurava army.
      18. Pandavas revealed themselves to king Virata.
  4. We recorded the kids chanting the verses 11 to 15 of Bhagavad Gita chapter 3.
  5. Saints of India 
    1. We continued to make mini-booklet about the Saints of India
      1. Kids received a blank mini-booklet and pictures of the saints.
      2. We started filling the booklet with the information
      3. We will complete in the upcoming classes.
  6. Aarti and Pledge in the Temple Hall.
