Apr 30, 2023 - Grade 3 (Sunday PM)

Hari OM Parents,

Please find the summary of today's class.

We started the class by chanting OM 3 times followed by morning prayers - "Sahanaavathu".  We practiced Dashavatara stotram. We did a quick recap of previous weeks topics.

Bhagavatham Story Time – Matsya Avatar

When King Satyavrata, a great devotee of Vishnu was performing his daily ablutions in a river, a tiny fish came to his palm. He was about to put the fish back into the river.  But the fish begged him not to do so, as other creatures might swallow it. Satyavrata then put the fish in his kamandalu full of water. By the next day, the fish had grown bigger, so he had to move it to another container. As it kept growing, he had to keep changing containers. It became so big, he had to put it in a lake and then in the ocean. He realized that it could be no ordinary fish and must be Lord Vishnu incarnated for a special purpose. He folded his hands and prayed to Lord Vishnu to enlighten him. Lord Vishnu told Satyavrata "on the seventh day from today, all three worlds will be submerged in the ocean of Pralaya.  Take all the herbs, plants, seeds, trees, different species of animals and seven sages in a big boat and when storm rocks the boat tie the boat to my horn with Vasuki the serpent". Satyavrata did as he was told, and Lord Vishnu rescued the boat during the Pralaya.

At the end of the Pralaya, the Lord killed the demon Hayagriva, who had had stolen and hidden the Vedas under the water and returned the Vedas to Lord Brahma.

God loves us and cares for us. He is considerate and is an ocean of kindness. He wants us to be happy. Vedas are sacred books that teach us how to live a happy life.

We discussed how we can be considerate in our day-to-day actions.

Kids wrote Likhita Japa 100 times and reported to achieve house points.

We concluded the class with Aarthi, prayer and the Pledge.

Thanks and warm regards,
