This week was special at Bala Vihar. Gurudev Chinmayananda's 107th birthday was this week. In celebration, our entire Bala Vihar students were going to perform Gurudev's paadukaa pooja individually.
The onus of setting up the pooja plates and seating arrangements for all of Bala Vihar is on the shoulders of our JCHYKs. They divided the work amongst themselves. Some of them laid the sheets for the students to sit on and do the pooja, some were in the production line, placing the things in the plates and passing it to the next person. The rest of them were taking the ready plates and placing them in their places. After the setup, the students of the entire Bala Vihar came to the temple. Our priest guided them in doing the pooja. Our student too, sat and did the pooja with everyone else.
When the pooja ended and everyone left, the onus of cleaning up and stacking up supplies, throwing away the trash, and even sweeping up the floors was done by our wonderful JCHYKs!! We are so proud of them for the seva they have done today!
