Sept 18, 2022 - Grade 5 (Sunday PM)

Hari Om Parents,
Welcome to the new year of Balavihar 2022-2023! We (Roopa and Ramee) were excited to see the kids in person. We are looking forward to a fun-filled year!

Curriculum
Curriculum for the fifth grade is Mahabharata Part 1 (until Viraata Parva) and India the Sacred Land - Saints. We will be covering the Aadi, Sabhaa, Vana and Viraata Parvas in Mahabharata. Shlokas for this year are Ajam Nirvikalpam and Ganesha Pancharatnam.

Balavihar House
Every year, each grade will be assigned a house to earn points for participating in different activities and contests throughout the year. Fifth grade belongs to Arjuna's Arrows. House color is green. House values are Action and Perfection. Kids are encouraged to wear their house colors on special occasions. Please refer to page 10 of Balavihar Handbook for more details (https://www.chinmayavrindavan.org/images/Documents/2022CNJBVHandbook.pdf). This year's Balavihar theme is Bhakti (Devotion).

Gita Chanting
Every year, kids are encouraged to participate in the Gita Chanting Competition, which is usually held during the month of April. We have Chapter 3 of the Bhagavad Gita for this year. Allocated verses for the 5th grade are 1 to 30. Please refer to page 15 of Balavihar Handbook for more details.
