Welcome to grade 1 Balavihar !!
This Year we are Learning Bala Ramayana as a part of our Curriculum.
Here is the Summary of Our class from Friday the Sep 23rd.
We started the class by chanting three Om's , Sahana Vavathu, Vakrathunda Mahakaya and Saraswati Namasthubhyam .
We would want all our Kids to memorize all the Opening prayers.
We will send out a text with all the Shlokas and also an Audio Recording which will contain Shloka Chanting.
Story Time :
Today we started with an Introduction to Ramayana.
We Learnt that Rama is presented as the ideal man. Talked about How we all Should try to be A Rama.
He is seen as the ideal Son, Brother, Husband and a future king who is an embodiment of the Beautiful characteristics.
Lord Rama is loyal, strong, selfless and protective, in addition to many others.
In today's Story we learnt about Ayodhya, Ayodhya means a Place where there are no Fights.
It's a Beautiful City which Ruled by the Great King Dasaratha. King Dasaratha had Three Wives - Kausalya, Sumitra and Kaikeyi.
All the people in Ayodhya were very Happy, Honest and Contended. King Dasaratha was Very Sad as he did not have Children.
We learnt about Sage Vashishta who is the Guru of King Dasaratha.
What do we do when we have a Problem ? Whom do we approach? We Generally go to our parents , Elders or Teachers when we have a Problem.
King Dasaratha approached Saga Vashishta who was his Guru.
He spoke to Sage Vasishta about his sadness .
Sage Vashishta and King Dasaratha went to Sage Rishyasringa who suggested that King Dasaratha perform PutraKameshti Yagna (Fire Ritual).
We spoke about how we do a Fire ritual, Please ask kids on what all we require to perform a Fire Ritual and they would be Happy to share with you.
We also completed out Next chapter where we learned about the Fire ritual , how we do it , what happened when the fire ritual was performed and so-on.
The Queens receive Payasam (Kheer or Milk Porridge) from the Fire God , which they consume.
The three queens give Birth to 4 Beautiful Sons.
The Beautiful children are named Rama, Lakshmana, Shatrughna and Bharata.
We will continue next class with the next lessons.
We have The most Beautiful and Joyous kids in our Class. Who are very excited to participate.
