Hari Om Parents,
It was amazing to see children in person. They are wonderful, energetic and curious throughout the class. We had a good class of BalaVihar.
What we covered in the class today:
We started our class with chanting OM 3 times
· We chanted beginning prayers for goddesses Saraswati (Saraswati namastubhyam), Lakshmi (Karage vasate) and Durga (sarva mangala mangale).
· We recited Ganesha Sharanam Bhajan
· We learned Guru strotram "Akhandala mandalaakaram", all children participated in learning three verses of Guru strotram from pg. 61 of My Prayers book
· Then we explored what is an "Avataram" means? And learned the names of Dasavatramas
- We discussed on what the word Avatar mean, 'Coming Down'
- We discussed on why God had to come down to earth, 'This is to remove evil and protect good'
- We reviewed the 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu (The pictures of the 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu were shown. The kids were able to recognize some of them. We asked them to note down the names of all of them)

· Narasimha Avatara - Half man and half lion
· Vamana Avatara
· Parashurama Avatara
· Rama Avatara
· Krishna Avatara - 8th Avatara of Vishnu

· Children repeated pronouncing the names first five avatars of Maha Vishnu; Mastya, Koorma, Varaha, Narasimha, and Vamana
· We learned what a Yuga is duration of time; and we are living in Kali yuga
· Children understood this years's curriculum is Bhagavatham
· We learned how to pronounce sansrik words of Bhagawath Geeta through primer video.
· Children participated in Arathi and pledge at assembly hall
We look forward to seeing children next week.
