· We addressed correct sitting posture and chanted Om 3 times.
· Opening Prayer ( Om Shanavavatu) Pg9 ( Blue book My Prayer pg. 9) We read the meaning of the prayer: May God Protect us Both, May He nourish us. May we energetically work together. May our study be brilliant. May we never have hatred for each other. Om .May there be peace.
· Attendance: Students caught a squishy ,smiley ball thrown to them, stood up at their turn, said their name and greeted Hari Om.
· Daily Prayer ( karagre Vasate): (Pg 14 My prayer blue book). We learned how to look at the palm in the morning after getting up from bed; ,Laxmiji at the tip, at the base Saraswati Goddess and in the middle of the palm Govinda
· We reviewed last times story on 3 Questions Who is God, What does God do , where is God. Rishabh narrated the whole story well ! Kudos to Rishabha!
· Topic of the Day: Our today's topic was How to see God. We tried to find a spot in the room and hide where there was no sky and realized that we could not find a spot without sky.
· Story : Student learned why Ganesha has big ears and small eyes. We addressed that while listening to the story we have to use our listening ears and keep eyes on the teacher. They heard a story of a teacher who gives an apple to each and tells students find a spot at home to eat it where nobody watches. Only one student returns apple saying God was watching him everywhere so he could not eat. This was interactive story .Some of the students ( Rishi ) answered correct that God watches us all the time.
· Activity : Lady bug search ( Worksheet and Magnifying glass) : A worksheet was given to locate a hidden lady bug. We learned that without special equipment a magnifying glass or cell phone, laptop magnification we could not locate it. Similarly, to see God we need a special equipment that is mind. Mind is an equipment where we feel our emotions happiness, sadness, anger, jealousy etc. To see God, you need a special mind.
· Discussion Question: How did we see Lady bug ? We need an equipment or instrument. Who has sweet Mind? Students answered accurately , a Person helping others, sharing, and trying to sooth a sad friend has a sweet mind.
By learning A,B,C… in alphabet safari we will develop sweet mind. A is for apple, B for boy is not the ABC that we are going to learn. We are learning special Vedanta alphabet ABCD…to become a sweet person. We are learning letter A next time. Children are asked to make a guess what Vedanta A stands for.
· Bhajan : We chanted Ganesh Sharanam (Pg 42 Bhajan#2 My Prayer blue book) with musical instrument.
· Game: Closing eyes and counting dropped coins and telling how many total numbers of coins were dropped .This was to calm them and improve auditory attention.
· Yoga poses : ( Butterfly, Mouse, Lion, pretzel, candle) with deep breathing practice.
· 2.00 Pm Gita Chanting on TV ( Primer and pronunciation). Please practice primer using this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkuUCKp3BW0. It has video showing how to pronounce some Sanskrit letters for Gita Chanting.
· Exit ticket: Coloring page: Alphabet safari ( color and glue it on your folder. Search the lady bugs by magnifying picture with your parents' cellphone or scanning and viewing magnified image on parent's laptop. We need equipment.
· Dismissal to the Prayer Hall 2.15 for aarati and pledge.
