With the blessings of Pujya Gurudev and Swami Shantananda ji we welcome the kids and you all to the 4th grade Balavihar 2022-2023! We are excited to see the kids in person. We are looking forward to a fun-filled year! This week, we began our class with opening prayers followed by introductions. Then, we reviewed the class rules and syllabus for this year.

As for our curriculum, this year we will be doing:
1.KRSNA KRSNA EVERYWHERE - The 20 lessons describe episodes of krsna lila from the 10th canto of Bhagavatam.
2.MY TWENTY FOUR TEACHERS - This is adopted from the eleventh chapter of Bhagavatam, popularly known as the Avadhuta Gita.
3. SLOKAS:Govinda Damodara Stotram and Krishna Ashtakam.

For our activity, we created beautiful japamalas. However, some of the kids couldn't finish making theirs. Please have them work on those and bring them ready for the next class. You will be able to find the materials in a plastic bag that was given to your child in our last class.
Class schedule:
Kids will be writing Likhita Japa for 5 minutes as all kids join and get settled.

My prayers book (can be brought in Chinmaya Vrindavan book store) - there is no other recommended book for the curriculum
Kindly, drop the kids on time by 12:45 PM.
Balavihar House
Every year, each grade will be assigned a house to earn points for participating in different activities and contests throughout the year. Fourth grade belongs to the Krishna Cowboys, so their house color is Blue. The house values are Knowledge and creativity. Kids are encouraged to wear their house colors on special occasions.
Gita Chanting And Shlokathon
Every year, kids are encouraged to participate in the Gita Chanting Competition and shlokathon which is usually held during the month of March and April. We have Chapter 3 of the Bhagavad Gita for this year and will be learning verses 1 to 25. Please refer to page 15 of Balavihar Handbook for more details.
