Hari Om Parents,
Wishing everyone a very Happy Diwali!! It was great to see children arriving in traditional dresses. They were excited to learn new lessons about Bhagavatam. We had an amazing class of BalaVihar.
What we covered in the class today:
We started our class with chanting OM 3 times
· Children practiced Ganesha Sharanam Bhajan
· We chanted beginning prayers for goddesses Saraswati (Saraswati namastubhyam), Lakshmi (Karage vasate) and Durga (sarva mangala mangale).
· Chanted Guru stotram "Akhandala mandalaakaram", all children participated in learning seven verses of Guru stotram from pg. 61 of My Prayers book
· Then we reviewed what we learned in last class about Kali's address and Parikshit; reviewed that Kali now resides in 5 places where dishonesty, pride, arrogance, gambling/drinking, lust and cruelty prevail.
- We discussed "The curse" story from Bhagawatham. The story is about how Pariksit gets curse form Sage Samika's son Sringi. The curse was that Pariksit should die with snake bite. Sage reminds his son how one wrong cannot be set right by another wrong act.
- Learned that wise people act like rsi.
- We all practiced house bahajan "Bolo bolo sab mil bolo om namashivayah"
· We assembled in main prayer hall for house day activities. They participated in Arti and Pledge in Assembly Hall
We look forward to seeing children next week.
