Hari om parents,
Hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful fall weather. Here is the summary of last class -
1. We started our class with 3 OM's and our beginning prayer Om sahana bhavtu followed by prayers for Lord Ganesha, Devi Saraswati and our Guru.
2. We also chanted the first 3 verses of our Guru stotram.
3. We started by revising our story of what happens when King Parikshit meets Kali
4. Story time- King Parikshit is cursed
One day King Parikshit went hunting in the jungle & after sometime he was thirsty and hungry. He wandered in search of water and was happy to see the hermitage of sage Samika.
In a quiet corner of the ashram, he sees the sage sitting in samadhi. The sage was in deep meditation and the king did not realize that. At first Parikshit asked politely for a drink of water and then asked 2 more times nicely. He was annoyed that he got no answer from the sage. Samika was meditating, unaware of the thirsty king.
Parikshit picked up a dead 🐍 & placed it around sage Samika's neck to break his concentration, Samika was calm & in his meditation. Sage Samika's son Shringi saw what had happened at the ashram and how his father was insulted. He curses Parikshit that 7 th day from today, a powerful serpent, called Takshaka will bite you.
What happens next?
5. At 10:00 am we went for house inaugural activities in the temple hall. Kids were super excited to solve the puzzle and our house came in at 2nd position. Everyone enjoyed solving the puzzle and we finished with the pledge.
