Krishna Krishna Everywhere
We quickly summed Krishna's story up until the killing of PUtana and TrinAvarta.
Then we went ahead with the story of the naming ceremony of Balarama and Lord Krishna.
- Vasudeva left his first wife Rohini and his seventh son in the care of Nandbaba to protect them from Kamsa. Rishi Garga performed the naming ceremony of both the boys.
- The elder one was named Balarama : "Bala" because of his extraordinary strength and "Rama" because of his charm and virtues
- The younger boy was named "Krishna'' because of his dark complexion apart from several other names.
We talked about the cute, mischievous and naughty antics of baby Krishna and how he would steal Milk and Butter from other houses and share them with all, including animals.
We then discussed the value of sharing and also recapped about forgiveness from the last class and asked them if they had a chance to apply that value.
kids shared a few stories about that.
We made kids do the Japa Mala for a few minutes chanting Sri Krishna's name during quiet time.
My 24 teachers
Our 5th teacher from this book is Fire.
Fire teaches us to be brilliant, to accept all and not allow impurities of others affect our personality and be pure.
We covered a story of Lord Budha and the elephant. We talked about how the power of saints purifies one and all and can make even the fiercest of animals become tame.
We also narrated another story about how, fire when treated with respect is a man's best friend but when used in wrong ways turns into a monster and destroys everything that comes its way.
Bhagavad Gita :
We learnt the 5th and 6th verses of Chapter 3 with Swamiji's guidance video.
Please have them practice all the 6 shlokas at home as we will soon be recording them to earn team points.
