Hari Om Parents
We started our class with Likhitha Jaapa, followed by our daily prayers and Ganesha Panchartnam.
We started to learn Nirvana Shatakam by Aadi shankaracharya, we have distributed to all the kids print outs of the same. We request you all to help children in learning this and also please make them practice at home. please find the links for the Nirvana Shatakam below in the thread. We continued to discuss India, the sacred land and we briefly talked about Adi shankaracharya.
Aadi sankaracharya was born in Kerala, he left his home at a very early age and took up sanyasam, he traveled all over india by foot and later he established mutts in various parts of India. He left this world at a very young age of 32. Advaita Philosophy was brought to light by Shankaraacharya.
We played a jeopardy quiz on India, its festivals. We also had a pop quiz for kids about what we learnt in mahabharata . We concluded with our Gita chanting until verses 1-14 and learnt new verses 15-16. It was about time to leave for our Aarthi to the prayer hall.
With pranams,
