March 26, 2023 -  Class Updates
  1. Kids wrote Likhita japa for the first five minutes.
  2. We started off the class with the opening prayer (Dhyana shloka - Om Saha Navavatu)
  3. Mahabharata
    1. Virata Parva continues
      1. Wrestling match in Virata's court
        1. Three months passed by in the year of incognito.
        2. There was a festival for Lord Shiva and a wrestling match was conducted.
        3. One wrestler from a foreign land remained invincible in the different wrestling games.
        4. Virata was unhappy that none of his kingdom's men could defeat that wrestler.
        5. Kanka (Yudhishthira's role) advised the king to call upon his kitchen's cook / wrestler Ballava (Bhima's role).
        6. Virata king called upon Ballabha and asked him to fight the wrestler.
        7. Ballabha easily defeated the wrestler.
        8. Virata was very happy with Ballabha.
      2. Karna's dream
        1. Karna one night, had a dream. In his dream, Surya devata appeared and warned him that next day, Indra devata disguised as Brahmin will ask for Karna's Kavacha (armor) and Kundalas (ear rings). and that Karna should refuse giving them away (Karna being known for his charity, Indra devata decided to take advantage of that to protect his son, Arjuna).
        2. Karna replied to Surya devata that he cannot refuse the request. Surya devata advised him to ask for Indra devata's Shakti weapon in return.
        3. Next day, as Karna was waiting to give alms for someone after his worship of Surya devata, Indra devata disguised as a Brahmin came to him and asked for his Kavacha and Kundalas. 
        4. Karna recognised that the Brahmin was none other than Indra devata. He cut-off his Kavacha and Kundalas and gave them to Indra devata.
        5. In return, Karna asked for Indra devata's Shakti weapon. Indra devata accepted the request and gave the boon but on conditions that Karna can use the Shakti weapon against one enemy and can use it only one time.
        6. Indra devata also blessed Karna to get the wounds healed after cutting off the Kavacha and Kundalas.
  4. Kids practiced the Bhagavad Gita chanting using the video - Verses 28, 29 and 30 of Chapter 3

  5. Story of a Saint - Narasimha Mehta
    1. Narasimha Mehta was born in Gujarat in 1414.
    2. His first phrase after he was born was "Radha Krsna".
    3. He was a devotee of Lord Krsna.
    4. He married Maaneka. The couple had a son and a daughter.
    5. He treated all human beings equally.
    6. Story of how his devotion to Lord Krsna was tested.
  6. We all enjoyed the third grade performance in the Temple Hall.
  7. Pledge in the Temple Hall.
