Hari Om! Parents,
Geeta Chanting Yagna is on April 22, 2023.  Registration is open now, please register soon! The details are posted in the parents WhatsApp group.

We would like to bring to your attention that use of cellphones by children is not allowed during Bala Vihar class. It must be in silent mode and put away in their bags.
Also please remind your children that proper behavior and decorum must be maintained in the prayer hall during assembly.

Week 19 Class
We discussed the Sri Rama Navami festival coming up this week. Children did this Likhita Japa 18 times at the start of class - "Rama'', "Jai Sri Ram". They also drew the "Rama Paduka" and decorated it with Rama Nama japa! Please sign up to do the Rama Nama likhita japa, which is open to adults and children. The details are on the parents WhatsApp group.
Here is the link to a video clip of a talk by Pujya Gurudev on Ramayana, please do share with your child.

Shlokas
Om chanting 3 times, Sahana vavatu, Vakratunda mahakaya, Saraswati namastubhyam, Guru Brahma, Sarva Mangala Mangalye (ref. My Prayers book pg 39).
We chanted the Mahalakshmi Ashtakam and 1-10 verses of Mahishasura Mardini Stotram (ref. My Prayers book pg. 47). Each child will be designated one verse of this shloka and will lead the class chanting.

Geeta Chanting
We learnt Verses 28, 29 and 30 today from our Swamiji (ref. Bala Vihar Handbook pg 17).  Grade 6 is in the Partha group, and is assigned verses 1-30 this year. We did a full review of all the verses assigned. Your child can start memorizing the verses now. Here is Swamiji's Geeta chanting video link for your child to practice with the correct pronunciation.

The play participants picked chits for the roles in the play and got their lines today. This took up the rest of class time. We had a short class and assembled in the Prayer Hall to watch the Grade 3 performance.
Wishing all Grade 6 families a blessed Sri Rama Navami festival! Jai Sri Ram!
- Rashmi Kuroodi and Venu Sadda
