Hari Om
In this class we continued with some play practice and covered another chapter from Vibhishana Gita. This chapter speaks about the 4 horses of the dharma chariot.
The 4 horses are -
1.Bala - strength - here we spoke of mental strength comes from being free of desire and attachments. Here we discussed the difference between water and cast iron. What does not bend will eventually break. Water seeks the shape of the path it takes and is hence more resilient than the stiff inflexible cast iron.
2.Bibeka - dicrimination - understanding true from flase, right from wrong. We had a discussion with the kids on what they would do if they went to the theatre to watch a movie and the people they were with snuck in without a ticket. This lead to a very interesting discussion
3. Dama - control of senses - here we spoke of the ability to know when to stop being tempted. We discussed the story of the fasting monkey who is so anxious about his food that he stopped his mediation and gave in to his desire to eat
4.Parahita - the ability to care for others. - here we spoke about many in society who stood against norms to do good to the disadvantaged few.
Next class we will be practising for the skit. Please have the kids memorize their lines thoroughly.
