Topic of the day : X for excellence and Y for Yajna
Lesson : X for excellence
Brainstorming: Through question answers, students discussed different skills everybody has and how practice helped them to acquire those skills. We were not able to talk, write our names and tie shoelaces when we were born but with practice we acquired the skill. For any skill to develop , we need 3 things: 1 Practice 2 sacrifice (give up something like watching TV or playing at the time of practice 3 Perseverance ( not to give up because it is difficult). Our Gurudev said every task that we do must be excellent.
Story 1: We learned the story of the scientist Thomas Alva Edison. He was teased that he failed 1000 times while creating a light bulb. To the teasing person, he answered " I know 1000 ways not to make a light bulb. I did not fail."
Activity 1 The students shot a target with a ball in 2 trials. It was pointed out to them how their aims got better with practice.
Story2: Big frog and Little frog: Frogs visit a dairy disobeying their adults. The story tells the consequences of the lack of perseverance of the big frog and how the little frog survived because of his perseverance.
Lesson : Y for Yajnya
Brainstorming: What is Yajnya? How everybody offers their service and God's boon for working with a yajnya spirit.
