We were blessed by the presence of H.H. Swamini Amma Radhikanandji on mother's day. Six parents participated in our mother's day celebration.
After taking the correct sitting posture, we chanted OM 3 times.
Opening Prayer ( Om Sahanavavatu pg. 8 My prayers green book).
Prayer of Bhagvan Ganesh : Vakratunda Mahakaya ( Pg 27 My Prayers Green book)
Prayer of Shreeram: Apadam uphartaram.
Attendance: Students stood up when the first letters of their names were called and greeted Hari Om.
Daily Prayers : We chanted Karagre Vasate Laxmi ( Prayer after getting up in the morning), Saraswati Namastubhyam( Prayer before study),and Gange cha Yamune chaiva (Prayer before Bath) (My Prayers Green book pg. 11). We practiced memorizing the first and the second verse of the prayer before food : Brahmarpanam Pg 12 Prayer #4. Pl help students to memorize.
Matrupooja ( Mother's worship): After prayer all students participated in doing padya pooja of their mothers with petals and offered them a flower and small naivedyam. After showing the lamp, all students did namaskar and took blessings from their mothers. The teacher chanted 5 verses of Matrustavanam ( Hymn to mother) by Swami Tejomayanandji ( My prayer, pg. 49 green book.
Swamini amma then played a mother's day special bhajan : The river is blowing….with guitar. Students sang with the actions.
Birthday Celebration: Swamini Amma and teacher chanted Janmadinam( birthday song composed by Swami Tejomayanandji and also English birthday song with guitar for one of our classroom students. Swamini Amma bestowed her special blessings.
Rehearsal of annual day performance: Students said their dialogues. The teacher explained scenarios, showed them actions that would go with their lines. The teacher acted on behalf of absent students.
Activity: Students prepared mother's day card with available craft material and time.
Departure to prayer hall.
Sincere thanks to parents who helped me setting up pooja thalis, helped me to bring students to the prayer hall and waited after the class to brainstorm ideas for the props .Thanks to parents who sent videos of their children saying dialogues.
