Hari Om Parents,
Hoping everyone celebrated Diwali with family and friends in a memorable way !!!
Today was the fifth class of Balavihar!! Here is the summary of what we covered in the class today:
Opening Prayers: All of us assembled in our classroom 'Giridhari', All of the kids dressed in Blue color- to represent Krishna's Cowboys!! We together chanted three OMs and then chanted the Opening Prayers - Sahana Vavatu.
Sloka time : Some kids chanted Ganesh Sloka-Ekadantam Mahakayam individually. And then we learnt a new bhajan which is our Krishna's Cowboys 's group bhajan - 'Hey Muralee Shridhara, Radhe Krishna Radhe Shyam'. All of the kids participated and learnt some words.
Introduction of the Letter of the day : We recaped that Letter B is for Brotherhood - Sense of togetherness and belonging among members of a family, neighborhood, city, organization and the world. And that the whole world is one big family.
Then we moved on to Letter C is for Cleanliness - being free from Dirt, and that which is neat and organized.
Brainstorming : Kids were shown different pictures to learn about Cleanliness and three types: Cleanliness of body, surroundings and mind. Pictures were shown showing good and bad actions. And our actions come from our thoughts which in turn means we need to have a clean mind. And that Cleanliness is equal to Godliness. And having a clean mind within is the only way to get closer to God and to have inner happiness and joy. It was an interactive session with kids participating actively.
Story Time : Kids were taught through the story of the Royal Horse, that we should always keep our body, surroundings and mind clean.
Exploration : Then kids were asked how to be clean inside ? We discussed this by talking about the activity with a glass of water, mud and sugar. Kids were taught that we should be like Gandhiji's three monkeys - See no bad, Hear no bad and Talk no bad.
Exit Ticket: Kids were asked to complete the Coloring sheet for Letter C and all of the Coloring Sheets provided earlier. Kids were given an Interview with Dad questionnaire and were asked to discuss with Dad and fill it in for the next class.
As it was House Inaugural Day we all went to the Prayer Hall at 10am, where each House group was introduced and Kids were given an introduction of the Houses, the competitions, how to score points and then each group was given a few puzzles which they had to assemble - the puzzle was pictures about some of the great devotees of Krishna like Meera bhai etc.Our kids actively worked with the 4th graders amd solved the puzzles.
